Ferro-Rod Fire-Starter

The Ferro-Rod Firestarter makes fire building easy in any weather, rain or shine, and at any altitude. Lighters and matches are good until they get wet, but the Ferro-Rod Fire-Starter works even when soaking wet. Made out of Ferrocerium, which is a man-made metallic material that gives off a large number of hot sparks when scraped against a rough surface, such as ridged steel. Commonly called ferro-rod and, most commonly of all, mistakenly called flint (particularly in cigarette lighters). With 12,000 strikes of 1,650°C (3,000°F), this simple and durable fire-starter is as reliable as they get since less parts means less can go wrong. Originally developed for the Swedish Department of Defense, this spark is used by armies worldwide. The Ferro-Rod Firestarter is the perfect minimalist addition for your everyday carry (EDC).

  • Lights thousands of fires from a single rod
  • 1,650°C (3,000°F) sparks that will start a fire in the toughest conditions (even when wet)
  • Huge robust sparks that you expect from a Delta Gear firestarter
