Made out of Ferrocerium, which is a man-made metallic material that gives off a large number of hot sparks when scraped against a rough surface, such as ridged steel. With 12,000 strikes of 1,650°C (3,000°F), this simple and durable fire-starter is as reliable as they get since less parts means less can go wrong.
